Making Take-Out In

November 25, 2010 by Lindsay Ingalls 1 Comment

The husband and I love Asian food- Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Burmese, Japanese-you get the point; so for dinner I like to play around with Asian flavors to make yummy dishes.  We love to go out for Asian food but we try not to get it out too much because of portion control, high calorie sauces and budget. Making your own “take-in” helps to reduce over eating and allows you to create healthier versions of your favorite dishes; here are three of my favorite “take-in” dishes for two.

Lemongrass Tempeh

with MungBean Sprouts

Basil Fried Rice

Garlic Broccoli

Little Buddha, Little Piece of Heaven

September 4, 2010 by Lindsay Ingalls 1 Comment

The Hubz, the Rents and I headed out yesterday afternoon to Stamford CT, where we are staying this weekend.  By the time we got there we were pretty hungry and decided to try a place called Little Buddha.  The place and it’s sister restaurants have received great reviews from the NY Times and the reviews were right on AMAZING food.

Now the place leaves a little to be desired like it only has seating for 14 people and you are crammed into a small place.  However the restaurant is more focused on it’s take out orders and the food makes up for the not so ideal dining space. Here is what we shared:

Vegetable Hot Sesame Oil Dumpling

Garlic Spinach and Tofu (favorite dish)

Cashew Vegetables

Chili Garlic Noodles

Vegetable Manchurian
