I love making goals and lists and plans – just ask The Hubz it drives him nuts but he loves me anyways. Since I am now (tomorrow) in my 25th year of life I figured what better than a list of 25 things for this 25th year.
Final outfit our house so that it is “grownup” and organized.
*To start crossing things off the list the Hubz and I will be visiting Jivana Holistic Spa this afternoon for some body treatments which includes a Balinese Massage. Here are some photos from the Jivana Holisitc Spa sight since I probably won’t be able to take any photos inside.
The Hubz and I are starting my birthday weekend out right and going to enjoy an ancient spa treatment at Jivana Spa. We are both getting the Jivana Journey which just sounds amazing. I am debating between the Thai Lemongrass and the Ginger Spice- I’ll let you know it goes. So excited for tomorrow!
As I see it a good start the morning can usually result in a good start to the day and what better way to start the day than with toast and tofu scramble?
We have to improvise a bit lately since we no longer have a toaster but it can be fun using our $2 camping toaster for fun. We had left over cheezy tofu scramble with lots of broccoli which was delicious before our crazy days started.
After a getting a cracked tooth filled and crazy day at work and prepping for another crazy day tomorrow I met up with my mom for a drink and a snack.
After we finished our drinks we met up with this guy:
C.V.L. Dad! (cook.vegan.lover. dad)
Then we did a little shopping and headed to A Single Pebble for dinner.

Also if you heckle the food blogger for photographing the food you suffer the consequences. Welcome to the blog post hall of shame:
Meet C.V.L. Mom who on the evening of August 25, 2010 who knowing the consequences decided to heckle the food blogger regarding her photographing the meal. Welcome to the hall of shame. XO MAMA just j/k all in good fun.
Meet the Hubz who decided to join in the heckling fun. love you lots but welcome to the hall of shame.
Disclaimer: the blog post hall of shame is all in good fun don’t worry.
That’s right folks the old man and I are headed to the great outdoors to test our camping skills. Now this won’t be easy with our nice new tent, camping mattress and of course that newish camping stove but I think we can tough it out and survive. I will hopefully be back on Sunday with a nice post, unless of course a bear eats us, so until then here are a few things for your enjoyment (oh and don’t forget that there is still time to enter the Care Package Swap of 2010:
hmmm is this thing on?
Q: How many Canadians does it take to light a Camp Stove?
A: TWO (and no those aren't mine or my husbands if you were wondering)
Oh and I almost forgot to mention that I am participating in Project Food Blog check it out!
Last night the husband and I had a cleaning/prep night for our first guests to our new home. We are so excited to have people over however I wish that we had more furniture so that things didn’t look so empty and that our style was displayed more. I honestly just wish that Young House Love pair would just stop on over and make everything look amazing. Until then here is a sneak peak of our “before” pictures- I hope that within the next 6 months I will bee able to show you the “after” photos. I am open to your ideas at inexpensive ways to improve our living space so let me know!

After all the organizing and cleaning/prepping for our guests I felt a lot like this:
So I decided it was time to make some dinner, enjoy a glass of wine and some chocolates.
For dinner I decided to keep things easy with a yummy veggie and tofu fried rice.
Ingredients:
1/2 head of kale ripped into small pieces
1 cup mung bean sprouts
1 corn cob of kernels
1 small onion minced
1 clove of garlic minced
1/2T sesame chili oil
1/4t white pepper
1/4t chili flakes
2T low sodium soy sauce
1T mushroom soy sauce
2 Cups of cooked rice
Directions:
In a wok heat the oil over high head and toss in all of the vegetables; cook for 1-2 minutes. Add in the remaining ingredients and toss together until heated and evenly coated. Top with baked tofu.
After spending a little time hitting the books the Hubz and I sat down with a glass of wine and some delicious chocolates. Again I whipped out the Ravi Wine Chiller and enjoyed a glass of vegan wine; a great suggestion from the wine shop in downtown Burlington.
