Welcome to the start of 12 Days of Giveaways! I hope you are as excited as I am about this years special event.  There will be at least one giveaways each day so keep your eyes peeled for multiple giveaways in a day.  Today is the beginning and to get us started will be a giveaway from Amy’s Kitchen.

Amy’s Kitchen provided me with the following goodies to review for this giveaway:

One of the great things about Amy’s products is that they are great when you are in a pinch and need to have food for entertaining.  I ended up bringing both the pizza and the chocolate cake with us to my Grandma’s when we celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving.  The pizza was one of the personal sized ones and we baked it, cut it up and served it as an appetizer.  It was a great hit! The flavor was wonderful.

We enjoyed the cake for dessert; we sprinkled the top with a little powdered sugar and served.  I really loved it and wish we had thought to serve it was raspberries or strawberries because the combination of the fudgey cake and sweet-tart fruit would have been so delicious.

Amy's personal sized pizza's are also great for a light lunch or dinner. The Hubz and I split the second pizza for lunch one day with a simple salad.

The holidays are just around the corner and that means spending time with friends, family and eating way too much!  If you were a reader last holiday season you may remember my 12 Days of Giveaways; well this holiday season it is back again and it is bigger and badder than last year.  This year I am doing a 12 Days of Giveaways starting December 1st.  A number of great companies have agreed to participate in spreading the holiday cheer and you can look forward to some amazing giveaways. There will be a giveaway(s) everyday for 12 days; also make sure you check back during the day because some days there will be multiple giveaways.  So keep your eyes peeled for great products that you could win this holiday season.

This is my last giveaway for “12 Days of Giveaways” and I hope you had fun! For my last giveaway I will be giving away Acai Powder from Navitas Naturals.  Navitas Naturals carries a number of great products that are especially good for raw recipes.  I first came to know about them when I got into raw food and I was looking for cacao nibs and raw cocao powder.  Although they can be pricey they are high quality products that I love.  I recently special ordered some of the cacao butter which is great!  I see they now have cacao lip balm which I might just have to get my hands on.

NuNaturals sent me a number of great items two of which are NuStevia No Carbs Blend and Cocao Bean Extract.  I have used the NuStevia sweetner packets in my coffee and it’s good – much better then regular stevia packets as it does not have such a bitter taste if you use to much.  I also used the NuStevia Baking Blend when my girlfriends and I were baking up a storm (click to see post).

One of the fondest memories of my childhood was making fluffernutter sandwiches with my dad.  Once I went vegetarian this was all crushed because of the gelatin used in marshmellows to make the fluff.  I was pleasntly surprised to find Suzanne’s RiceMellow in a local natural food store a few years ago.  I have been a big fan ever since (and can enjoy fluffernutter sandwiches again).  Now it’s your chance to win your own container of Ricemellow.  Leave a comment by 8pm tonight December 10, 2009 for your chance to win. Who knew?  Newman’s Own Organics also makes organic mints! They come in Cinnamon, Ginger, Peppermint and Wintergreen.  I haven’t yet tried any of these mints but have the cinnamon stashed in my purse and am planning to take the ginger on my upcoming trip to Florida- ginger is great for upset tummies and to aid in digestion.   If you’d like your own chance to try Newman’s Own Organics Peppermint mints then please leave a comment telling me about what your holiday plans are — if you don’t celebrate a holiday  leave a comment telling me your favorite winter activity.  Please leave your comment by 8pm December 9, 2009.
