Going Raw

Honestly I thought going raw was going to be a lot easier than it is. However I’m really struggling at giving up none raw foods- as well as fully liking the raw dishes I create.

I made a rawzanga and it was amazing and this raw broccoli and cheeze dish that was good. I also have made raw brownies which my husband can’t stop talking about. However then there was the raw burgers and sweet potatoes I just couldn’t get into it.

I think I just need to take more time and try new things as well as take a slower approach to raw food rather than just jumping in.

The most difficult thing I am finding however is that all the raw dishes I want to create take hours to make. I don’t have hours I work full time and mangage a house and have very little me time so it’s like what’s a girl to do? How can I put something in the dehydrator for 3 hours when I work from 7-5 and if i put it in when i get home we can’t even enjoy it til 8.

Anyways I have decided to go back to my cooking ways and leave 1-2 days a week for raw dinners (lunches may or may not be raw those are easier to do with salads and such).

I also need to jump back into working out I have been awful about it lately. It just seems like we are never home and our house is it rough shape from being gone every weekend and working all day – it’s hard to go home at the end of the day and just spend all my time cleaning and putting things away as well as until this past weekend we were lacking in places to store things. Anyways it’s back to working out today because I need to get back in shape for our cruise which is just a few months away.

I guess it’s time to work now.

Cheers.

Going Raw…..at least for the most part

My husband and I have both noticed an increase in our weight over the last few months and are well unhappy about it. We know that it’s time to make some changes and after about a two years of discussing doing a high raw diet we have decided to jump right in. Our plan is to attempt to eat 60-80% raw and since we have our own garden this year it should be a lot easier. I just purchased a deyhdrator and i am looking into getting a few other essentials to make our raw venture easier and more doable. The thing is however it’s so expensive to go raw when you have to buy all the contraptions and lots of fresh produce all the time and living in the NE fresh produce is harder to find year round. Anyways we are excited to start and will jump into it after our weekend away to Toronto.

I'm Back

I know it’s been months since I have been on here and posted anything. I have lots touch with all the blogs I normally read and need to just get back at it. My down time to read blogs was always during my breaks at work but for a while they had all social networking sites including blogs blocked so I just lost touch. My evenings are so busy at home that I just never had the time to sit down and write. Things are more settled now and I am excited to get back on here.

Right now I am doing a cleanse before the summer really starts and we are making a big trip to Toronto to visit friends and I just want to feel rejuvenated.

We have a huge garden plot this summer so there are bound to be tons of recipes popping up on here a couple times a week and will include raw and non-raw.

well this is short and sweet but I will be back!
