I have decided to challenge myself to take on two different training plans over the next 16-weeks. I am still plugging along at my race training plan and I have also decided to try out Kayla Itsines Bikini Body (BBG) plan. I actually started the plan three weeks ago but I slacked on week three, had an over indulgent weekend away and just felt like I need to restart so I am starting the plan over again this week. So far I am really loving the BBG plan but it is crazy challenging – perfect really.
So here are the first few weeks of my plan:
I think I discussed it in a previous post but I am following the Jeff Galloway plan because it is what has worked for me in the past and I say why fix something that isn’t broken, am I right? I am using the Galloway 10k iPhone app and I am loving it.
Interested in following my BBG journey? I have create a separate Instagram (because I don’t have enough IG accounts already) to track my BBG progress – so check it out if you’d like! All of my running training progress will be posted on the blog and on my regular IG account.
What is your favorite training plan?
Priscilla
Hi Lindsay,
I’ve been doing some reading on Kayla Itsines and she definitely has a lot of mixed reviews about her BBG. I’m thinking about buying it but after reading this http://www.bikinibodyguidereview.com/kayla-itsines-workouts I have my doubts..
In your honest opinion do you think it’s worth it? It is a little expensive π
I’m 37 and now my 2 boys aren’t babies any more I want to get in to shape.
Regards,
Priscilla

What is your fitness level like right now? I actually didn’t end up completing the program because of a running knee injury. I felt like the BBG 2.0 was a good challenge and I definitely got in a good workout but I’ve decided not to return to it until I feel like I am in a bit better shape. I would not recommend the meal plan personally as it’s a bit too restrictive IMO.
Priscilla
thanks for the reply Lindsay π
Sorry to hear about your knee, I’ve actually got a bad knee as well and feel your pain. Definitely rest up while you can or just do light stuff until your knee gets better.
I done mine at work a few years back but I went back to work while it was still recovering and because I went back to early it never really healed properly…
My fitness level is beginner level, I just started doing some workouts(I decided to buy the bikini body workouts that web address recommended it’s pretty good so far and only cost $29.99 which is a bit more affordable than Kayla Itsines guide.)
Ohhh I did read that Kayla’s diet was a bit extreme. I don’t think I would handle it I love my food to much π I am eating healthier now though..
Thanks again and hope you have a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Priscilla π

I believe she has a sample workout as well that you may want to give a try before deciding

How did the workout go? I tried your IG page but it doesn’t seem to load. I;m really interested in the BBG but not really sure since it cost so much. This review said it cost over $200! Is that true? http://www.ehowtoshootabasketball.com/bikini-body-guide-review/
Do you have any advice for someone who is looking to get into a cheap workout plan?
Thanks. Do you have a link to a working instagram page?

Hi Sherry,
Mine I think cost around $70 and I just bought the workout plan not the meal plan so I’m not sure if that is why the article you shared says $200 (could be for both).
Are you looking for a high intensity style workout? There are a number of plans floating around on the internet. I honestly haven’t tried a ton of plans besides running plans and BBG which I didn’t complete but I am actually starting back up this week (I’ll share my experience here on the blog and also on my IG: runwithtongs – my old BBG IG is no longer active).
I also love the barre3 online classes and they have a 28 day program that you can follow that is really great and has a meal plan.
Let me know if you find a program that you really like and if I come across some plans I’ll share them back here!

Hi, I was wondering how the BBG and a running plan was going I was training for a 5k but just completed that (my 5k was 6/25) but I want to keep up with the 5k maybe even going to a 10k but I also started the BBG yesterday and struggling to find a way to fit everything in!
