POM Wonderful sent me a sample of their new POM Cranberry Juice and I have been enjoying it with seltzer, however since it is a beautiful sunny Saturday and the Hubz and I are relaxing I decided to make POM Cranberry Sangria.
Yields 2 large serving
Ingredients:
- 1 cup red wine
- 1oz shot of Cognac
- 1oz shot of Triple Sec
- 1/2 cup POM Cranberry
- 1 apple diced
- 1/4 cup frozen wild blueberries
- 1 small lemon thinly sliced
- Seltzer
In two large glasses half of the apple, half the blueberries and half the lemon in each. Mix the red wine, cognac, triple sec and POM cranberry together and pour half into each glass. Top the red wine mixture with seltzer to fill the glass. Sit back, sip and enjoy!

Oh Sangria! Since moving to Spain I have been well verses on a “proper” Sangria 🙂 Did you know that they make it with… hold your breath… Fanta! Yes, that electric orange soda drink! They love it here! And it always a mix of red and white wine. I think I might prefer your recipe 🙂

I did know that and I have always missed real Spanish sangria – you can’t find it here or at least in Vermont. There used to be this wonderful little hole in the wall (literally) place that I would go over near Plaza Mayor and it was always filled with local older men having jam sessions and my friends and I would listen to them play and drink pitchers of (cheap) sangria and complementary tapas. Oh how I miss Spain, my heart hurts and longs to go back every time I talk about it. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30447715&l=a879559652&id=115400353
