As many of you know from twitter we lots our fur baby earlier this month due to sickness and old age. We miss her but were prepared (as much as we could possibly be) for the day to come that she would no longer have the quality of life she should. Since then we have been debating over adopting a dog or a cat and finally settled on another cat (for now) due to our current living situation and travel commitments.
We found one kitty that we but in our adoption papers for but never heard anything back from the ASPCA. So after calling all week and never getting to talk to a person and never receiving any returned phone calls we decided that it just wasn’t meant to be. So we headed over to the Chittenden County Humane Society to check out the kitties they had for adoption. We had already been checking them out online so we had an idea of which ones would be a good fit for us based on their profiles. We spent sometime talking and interacting with a number of the cats and final decided after spending some one-on-one time with him that Squeakers (yes he does squeak) was the perfect fit for us. Below is profile from the Chittenden County Humane Society site.

So sorry for your loss. I don’t think you can really prepare for a loss like that. We have 3 older cats and I dread the day we lose them. Squeakers is absolutely adorable! I’m sure he’ll settle right in.

Oh how cute! I hope Squeakers enjoys his new home.

He is so cute! I love that you guys adopted a 10 year old kittie, he is lucky to have you 🙂

I agree with Sarah – older cats too often get passed over for kittens but they are just as deserving! I can’t wait to hear how he settles in.

Congrats on your new addition; he has such a sweet face! We just lost our kitty baby, but we know that rescuing another one is in our future.

Lindsay, I had no idea 🙁 I’m so sorry for your loss. I know what you mean, about being sad over the loss but being prepared at the same time for it. My thoughts are with you. You are blessed to have a new lovely fur baby to make you smile, and Squeakers is blessed as well to have you. 🙂

So sorry for your loss. 🙁 No matter what, even if they are ready, we are never ready for them to go.
I’m so glad to see that Squeakers was able to join your family. I have a soft spot in my heart for the older guys…and he’s the cat’s meow. 😀

[…] I went to Lindsay and her hubz’ place to visit with the new fuzzy member of their family (who I’m absolutely in love with) and eat some dinner. I’m not exactly sure what she made but […]

OMG….My sympathies go out to you both for the loss of Ariel… I had no idea this happened. I feel so sad! She was such a great cat…
Lucky for Squeakers that he has you two – he couldn’t have hoped for better human companions!!! XOX
